Hi, we’re Heidi and Taft, also known as HaT to family and friends. In November of 2015, Heidi was diagnosed with celiac disease, and our kitchen turned upside down! With 6+ months of experience under our belts, we hope to share bits and pieces of our gluten-free journey—what we’re learning about what to eat, where to shop, and how to keep enjoying food—while the feelings of being overwhelmed by major dietary changes and the trauma of loading a gluten-free grocery cart for the first time are still fresh in our minds.

Red Checkered Tablecloth represents a gathering place where families can live and laugh, eat and enjoy together, whatever foods they share. As our dietary needs and menus change, we can preserve the tradition of sharing good food together.

All recipes shared on this site are gluten-free. As members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we also don’t use coffee, green or black tea, or alcohol.

Enjoy our blog? You might also enjoy our children’s book, The Mud Bird. Right now, it’s a labor of love, but go ahead and make it a bestseller for us! 😉
